Study: Rapid detection of Epstein-Barr viral genomes from formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded samples
show Abstracthide Abstract
Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is associated with several hematological and epithelial cell malignancies. To identify the presence of EBV in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) samples, we developed a rapid detection method. We tested gastic cancer samples with the method, and we extracted DNA and performed target capture-based whole-genome sequencing of the viral genome from samples carrying EBV.
Sample: Epstein-Barr virus genome obtained from a patient (UPN1628) with gastric cancer
